March 15 - 19.... 2010 (Monday - Friday) - | | ANTONIO DUARTE WORKSHOP (FULLY BOOKED) | | | | Exploring the Figure with drawing and pastels with Antonio Duarte..
This class will take you from drawing the figure, to working in 2 colours, then following on with a full colour palette. A portrait in pastels will also be taught. Demonstrations will flood the workshop as well as excellent tutoring from Antonio as you explore a poetic expression of the human form.

For those with some art experience as you will need to know how to paint and draw generally. Suitable for the beginner to oils and advanced student.
Penelope will lead you through some practical pointers in painting the light filled landscape. As both a plein air and studio artist Penelope will share her expertise from a wide experience base. Demonstrations will be an integral part of the workshop.

April 12 - 16.... 2010 (Monday - Friday) - | | HERMAN PEKEL WORKSHOP "FUN WITH WATER BASED MEDIA" | | | | This course will be ideal for the frustrated watercolour painter who although may have painted for years finds that the desired expertise with the medium eludes them.
The workshop is technique based in that you will be shown a number of ways to work with water based media ranging from transparent to opaque applications and all and sundry in between. You will walk away with experience in several different techniques that will open up possibilities that you may not have considered an option for you.
Herman will offer guidance to the individual student allowing each to move in their desired direction, but at the same time nudge you into new experiences.
Come prepared to relax into a week of experimentation and be transported to another realm.

Bob’s ability to inspire and entertain an audience while producing demonstrations making students feel totally relaxed and comfortable.
His encouraging and helpful advice given makes you understand why he has been sought after as a teacher all around the world. Very few work so hard and give so much of themselves in sharing information.

This workshop is for those who have mastered the basics and wish to move on to new levels.
The course will cover, tone, temperature, colour mixing, composition, atmosphere, highlights, reflected lights, reflections and other subtleties unique to our Australian landscape.
The workshop will begin with theory and then move onto a tonal landscape.

July 3, 4, 5....2010 (Saturday, Sunday & Monday) - | | KAROL OAKLEY WORKSHOP "NOT PURELY PASTELS" | | | | Course Description:
We will be exploring some of the many ways pastel can be used, both as a wet and dry medium, including underpainting. This workshop is based on having fun with seascape, landscape and buildings using photo references and some outdoor painting (weather permitting). Everything we do is demonstrated, explained and includes step by step examples. Karol tutors with one-on-one tuition as students work through the days painting. Each day ends with a class critique and discussion. This workshop is designed to build confidence and skills and to encourage participants to let loose and have fun with not so purely pastels.
